"All American" Diatonic in various stages of cleaning. The reeds which are all individual are variously numbered as per the above picture , but as you see, not in direct sequence. An ingenious idea, allowing single reeds to be easily changed. A reasonably airtight setup, as well.
Cleaning would have been easier if the alloy cover had not been peened over at the back. (Take great care if you want to remove this!)
Design patented Aug. 4th 1931 by Irving Stein of Brooklyn and Charles Bennington of West Hempstead. Applied aplication dated Feb 24th 1930.
The reeds are held in place, by two screws through from the inside rear, which also holds the alloy cover.Rivets holding reeds are part of plate.
Seydel made "Boomerang" 20 hole 40 reeds. Concert or Organ tuned.
In G, with 40 valves. this was made for the Australian market, for a dealer in Sydney named Albert, amongst other models, around the 40's.
