48 Reed Echo Harmonica in C, part made and assembled in England.
Dated 1948 when it cost 22 shillings (£1.10p). This included 4s tax!
Now restored and playing perfect!
Must have been difficult selling German goods at this period, wonderful how quickly we became trading partners.
Hohner "Songband" This model from between the wars has its own reverse cover stamping different to most other models Wedge body..Brass plates.Pinned.40 reeds.Plays perfect.Dot!

Unusual for Hohner as it has ALUMINIUM plates.
2x40 reed tremolo.
Probabably 1940'sRegd. 267391 (or 7).
With Ali plates, feels very light to handle.

Made by A. Mancini Pesaro Italy. Key of G 1960's ?
Although it has no marking except
"Militar Musik"
Made in Germany,
I believe it to be by
Max Spranger,
as there are very simliar models in thier catalogue.
32 reeds, with zinc alloy plates? In key of F.
Made in the1930's  for the war effort. Brand new and unused with only a few tiny rust spots on It.

Took some carefull tapping to restore it, as it was flattened.(See insert)
Able to restore it though and get all the reeds repaired. Still sounds OK.
About First World War I guess. Maybe later.
No sign of any plating,
maybe just polished Zinc?
