Restoring an Early (c.1900) Hohner Double side Echo
As I got it, Tarnished, slightly flattened and rusty inside. Bought in America.
The finished product, looking good and playing well. This double sided echo harp, with zinc covers, is quite a scarce beast as harps go.
The insides of the zinc covers had quite a layer of oxidisation which was removed and the covers lacquered, to prevent further tarnishing.
Stripped ready for renovation. Woodwork was cleaned and stained, the outside lacquered. Plates in not too bad condition
Lower three photos show 1. Parts cleaned and ready for assembly.
2. Cover before and after restoration.
3. Closeup of cover logos, last award 1881.
The harp has 2 x 32 reeds in alternate suck/blow pairs. C & G
