Hohner 'Steve Larrabee' 'Lone Star Rider' Made for the 'Lone Star' toy company in the early 1950's. 'Steve Larrabee' (Roy Green) was the companies "Cowboy" from 1952-57.. Now in his 80's he is stii doing a cowboy show in the USA. Steve was one of my boyhood heroes, an englishman who turned into a cowboy! |
<<<<<<< The 'Lone Star Cowboy' (left) is one of the Hohner harps that kills the myth of the 'SIX POINTED STAR'. ("If it has a star its prewar!") This harmonica being produced in the 1950's with brass plated steel plates. 10 hole 20 reeds. Made during a shorted of brass no doubt, due to the war. Maybe the bottom covers were from pre-war production and just the top cover was especially produced. Brings back many happy memories of 'Lone Star' cap pistols and cowboy outfits!! |
